Dealing with Digital Death is Important

I know, morbid.

But, I’d like to leave a “legacy” – and since I’ve had an online presence since the 90’s, then I have a social network “out there in digital land” – everything from my very first web site on Geocities (yep!) – to various forgotten / abandoned photo albums, email accounts… not to mention Myspace / Facebook. I was networking on the internet way before it was called, “Social Networking” – so … in the event of my death I’d like to be able to leave a clean legacy – that means records, a final status notice, who / what / where / how with someone I trust (sites, passwords) – I read how to do this briefly in an article at eHow.Com and I will begin preparing today. The first thing I’ll do is start paying attention to what is “out there” – and logging / noting my information in a safe secure place. That will make a good start.
