I’m not fluent in any way but I took some actual classes and now I understand some basic grammar and vocabulary. That’s enough to get me started, if I ever go somewhere that speaks Portuguese it’ll be enough to be able to brush up on it and try talking with people!

And well, its alright. for me, portuguese is harder than arabic, because it has cognates and so everyone assumes I already speak spanish (or french or italian) and that I know all those words anyway. Well, I don’t so I need to work on my vocabulary but otherwise it isnt bad so far. I really like it. Sometimes it’s hard because if I can’t think of a word in Portuguese I substitute the arabic word and that just sounds silly.
