It seems to me that that vast majority of books published in our time are wholly without substance. Books like The DaVinci Code and anything by James Patterson (not to mention the plethora of books full of political nonsense) among lots of others offer a decent story if that’s all you’re after, but where are the Hemmingways, Fitzgeralds, Dickens, Tolstoys, Brontes, Harper Lees, Huxleys, of our day? How does one seek out the literature that is actually literature and not six hundred pages of pointless story telling?
