I need to make the most of the next 10-11 months in order for me to be prepared for returning to school. But I’m so excited for the start of it all!
My options are to return to finish my MSW in either late April/early May or in late August/early September. Not sure which option will work best for me yet. If I decide to not go that route and to finish my second bachelor’s degree, I can return anytime between mid May and late August.
Either way, my new lease ends on May 31. So I’ll either be moving in mid-late April or at the end of May. No more than 335 days. I can handle this.
This is totally more about me moving back to MI right now than it is about school, but I also know that I am not willing to give up on the educational opportunities sitting right in front of me. I can’t wait for it all!

Unless things change, I want to be 100% ready for school. I think I can still get a lot out of my work experience, and I think I’ll be better prepared for work because of it.

Now I’m thinking about going back to grad school in the fall. Of course, if I could find a job that would work well with finishing my Spanish degree, that’d probably be the smartest idea, since I’m not completely ready to go back to grad school yet. However, I think I have an idea of what I want to study (my concentration and areas of practice), where I want to do my internship, when I want to study/intern abroad… with a plan like that in mind I don’t want to wait – I just want to go back. Thank goodness I have a BIT of time to mull over this all… hopefully I’ll make the right decision. Right now it’s all too much to take in…

Well, I received my official admission letter by e-mail. And as I’m typing this out, I realize I probably should’ve mentioned my decision to reapply to my parents, as any school mail is going to go to my dad’s house. Oops. This is still just an IDEA of what I might do next year, so I was keeping it a relative secret. I guess now’s the time to share.
Anyway, that was a much faster process than I expected.
I’ve taken further steps. Just after I submitted my reapplication, I looked into possible fall and spring schedules. It looks like I’ll have 3 classes each semester, so hopefully I can find a job that will allow me to work full time around that schedule. Considering the current job market, it’ll be tricky, but I’ll try my best!
I also sent a VERY long e-mail to the Spanish academic adviser. She was helpful the first time I contacted her, so hopefully I’ll hear back from her soon. I just want to make sure that my dreams are actually a reality – in that I really only have 18 credits to complete and I could realistically do it (get into the courses I need, etc.) within the next two semesters.
Although the nagging “I’m not sure about all of this” is in the back of my mind, I have not been this excited about anything in awhile. I think I’ll still need a month or two to decide for sure, but this is looking like a good option.

I submitted my application to return to my alma mater and complete my Spanish degree! I already have my first bachelor’s degree, and I’m pretty sure that after 15 more credits I could have my second! I haven’t actually decided that going back is a sure thing (I’ll decide in a couple of months) but I’m just taking the first step in making sure the option is there.
If I do go back, the plan is to attend school part-time and complete this goal in a year, and then go back to grad school to finish my MSW. Things could change, but I like the way this all sounds.
