The Re-Enchantment of Everyday Life by Thomas Moore. Pretty good but a little slow going. I had hoped to get more out of it. it was a little too new agey for me and for the most part it was a lot of rather commonsensical yet impractical advise. Ya know that stuff you know you should do, but it just doesn’t quite work out because you have a job, kids, house, yard.

I have read this before, but it has been awhile and since I am doing the Artist’s Way it seemed like a good fit to read right now. I forgot how much I enjoy that book. Some parts of it really make me say to myself, Self, wow, there really are other people like you out there, who struggle with similar issues, like being afraid of their creativity. It is such an uplifting and easy read. A lot of the advice is stuff you already know, but forget in the course of life.
this year I have read:
The Temple of My Familiar, Alice Walker
Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, Malcolm Gladwell
The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell
Women Who Run with the Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Hmm. Is that really it? Ugh.
Does the latest issue of Vogue count?
I have two loaned books. Neither are books I would typically read. One by Jimmy Carter, Our Endangered Values. The other: Dale Carnegie, How to influence and win people. Or something like that.
So, should I read them first even though I don’t find them fun.
I just finished Women who Run with the Wolves which was the first step. Next is The Artist Way.
