Pay off all my credit cards

I expect to have it paid off in March. That is exciting.

I think I can pay off the smaller one within six months. That will make it easier to throw more money at the big one. :) One step at a time, as they say.

Simultaneously, I’ve started to build up our emergency savings fund. I’m trying to get it to the point where it could cover about 6 months of basic living expenses. I think we are about 40% there.

I can focus on this, plus building savings. Phew. I’ll start with the smaller one first.

Am finally receiving travel reimbursement from work, so I can pay off one of my cards! Only one left after that, although the balance is much bigger.

I successfully shut down the one. I got tired of being on hold for the other, so I have to call back.

I’m glad I did this. I have to start paying student loans in November, so it is time to seriously economize for a while.

Just got off the phone with credit card #1. They shut it down and I am on payment plan. That is a relief.

Calling credit card #2 to do the same.

I should have done this years ago. Will be interesting to function without a credit card.
