Took the National Test and found out this morning that I made it!!! Whew…what a relief!! That test was a pain and a half..I felt like I bombed it for sure, and didn’t feel like attempting it again if I did happen to fail…but I passed!!

Less than 8 hours ago…practicals are done! Now all thats left is some paper work, and the written! Almost done!!
Well, into my 6th month of class…the finish line is sight. We had to take a written test for our class and had to get an 80% on this final in order to keep our scholarships…and I passed well above an 80%!!
Thursday thru Saturday will be the practicals…Thurs & Fri for our class instructors and a class grade, Saturday, the read deal for state. Later this month will be the testing for state done on a computer at a testing center. I’m almost done, and I couldn’t be more relieved!!
whew, stressful…we just completed a HUGE cumulative test and a practical with a medical patient. This week has had so many other activities going on….but I passed both tests!!
Last night I also went on the ambulance for the first time…because I’m in an outline area I don’t get the pager like those in town (and the town I live in hasn’t had much action…which a good thing, but a bad thing all at the same time.) Anyway, I was at moms (who is also taking the course) and she wasn’t around, so I was able to go on a transfer. It was interesting to see what all goes on, and to be able to participate some. Its amazing how much faster people react than what seems to happen in class…hopefully it will all become more of a second nature to me.
I did the vitals and passed with flying colors, and the 100 Q test I recieved an “A” hip hip hooray!!
Our first major test is tonight, 100 questions written test and a practical test, with blood pressure, vital signs and such, so hopefully all goes well!
Whew, the last week has been kinda hectic, and I’ve found myself wondering if I really want to become an EMT. I’ve finally went back and forth enough, and I’ve decided to take the Nestea plunge…I’m going to take EMT-B classes starting on January 1st.
There is a grant, so the class is free as long as I pass the tests and exams, and agree to work 240 hours in a year…so this along with Senior year stuff, I hope that I make it through without too much stress.
I want to go into the medical field adventually, right now I’m thinking I’ll major in biology first, so I’m hoping that this course will help me with all of that. Also my county has a really good volunteer EMT force, so I can gain a lot of expierence once I pass my boards in June.
Sooo for now, I’ll wait until January, and brush up on some of the body parts I’ve learned in Advanced Biology!
I’m gonna make this goal a reality by June!
