start a radio station

With the advice of tjthedj, and a little creative use of several free online services (Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, journals, etc.) interest is gaining in both a San Marcos-based radio station and another group of stations with religious programming maintained by our church. Funding for the church will be easy, but getting a location and resources for at least a “semi-live” station is the next hurdle.

It’s time for large corporations to stop buing out radio stations and converting them into dummy relays for their syndicated programs. Top 40 music is pay-for-play, therefore “art” imitating life. The airwaves belong to the people, they deserve to have them back.
