Find my passion in life that I can support myself on

I am a lucky father with 3 beautiful children. I am a husband of 25 years who is lucky to have such a wonderful wife. I left my career of 25 years to pursue other interests and find myself lost without a paddle and nearly broke. I have attempted to reenter the world but every attempt has left me short of finding something worthwhile that will help contribute to my families needs. I am trying hard to do this but I seem to have no luck. At my age of 50 it is unbelievably difficult to get anyone to consider you for employment other than 10 to 12 dollar jobs. I need to find a career that will support my family. I am also feeling a need to find something that will help fill the void I know is missing in my life. Something that will inspire me and allow me to show my true abilities and desires. I feel stuck, and lost.
