I want to knit because of my desire for self-sufficiency. I want to make my own clothes (I also want to sew). I do not feel good buying everything I own from other countries where working conditions are terrible. I think that by learning how to make my own clothes, I will grow to appreciate what I wear and what it is made of in more depth. I have a DVD that teaches knitting, but I haven’t been very faithful in practicing. This is a thing I will have to work on.
