paint more often

My walls are so bare, really need to pick up the brushes and paint! When am I going to start?

This book is by Matthew Arnold, I think it will help me a little – learning to appreciate and understand other people’s art better, and I guess(hope) it will inspire me too. I am reading about this from another book, there’s one quote by him… “every great work of art, was marked (directly or not) by the desire to remove human error, clear human confusion, and diminish human misery, just as all great artists were imbued with the aspiration to leave the world better and happier than they found it”. Art is “the criticism of life.”

I guess if I stand in front of a really good piece of painting would be like a dancer dancing in front of you. I keep trying to improve my painting techniques, and just realized that I’m forgetting the bigger picture!

I feel depressed because my painting has ended last weekend. I can’t believe we are half way through the summer already! I will try to paint some more this coming weekend~ I don’t feel like going to their next class, I find it difficult to concentrate painting with a group of people, I’d rather do it with 2 or 3 people and at an outside setting or alone at home.

I just made plans with my friend to go paint at his house this wednesday. This friend of mine bought a house almost a year ago, it was only a few months ago I got to go visit for the first time.

I was amazed at how many paintings he has done (I think it must’ve been 150+) and how well it looked with them hanging around the house. He did paintings for poems and children stories that he has written too. My life is dull since I work in an office day after day, and I guess he has much more inspiration working with children(he’s an elementary teacher). By just talking to him gives me so much inspiration to paint!

I have got to meet more artists!

It has been at least 6 years since I last painted, but I’m proud to say I am actually taking a course this summer. :) The teacher is pretty good too! Need to paint more to improve though… time is a problem for me!!
