knit a sweater

This afternoon I cast on and knit one and a half rounds, then had to go out to rehearsal. I’ve got some other chores to take care of now, but I’ll be knitting pretty much all evening. Wish me luck!

The yarn for my sweater arrived today. I’m so excited! I’m not sure I’ll be able to wait until November to start it! But, I really do have other things I ought to finish first – my husband’s hat, for example, and a pair of slippers for my mom.

I’ve all but signed up for NaKniSweMo, which means that (if I truly go for it) I’ll be attempting to knit an entire sweater in the month of November. If I do this, I won’t be trying Kenobi. It’s got way too much texture in it for me to even hope to finish in a month. Current favorite is Burnish Tunic from the newest Knitscene.

We’ll see!

I’ve picked a pattern, but I’ve already got so many projects either on the needles or waiting to be cast on, I think this is going to have to wait a little longer.
