i am enjoying watching my little baby become more and more a little girl. she has two teeth now and is smiling and laughing. she has her own sweet way of communicating with me-i love hearing her talk and she has so much to say…or babble!
we are now eating solids, so i’ve been making sure to give her good organic food (jarred so far). in a bit i plan on going to the farmer’s market to get produce to make my own food. i’m looking forward to that.
meanwhile we are working on falling asleep by ourselves and entertaining ourselves! she’s very active now, so sometimes she wants something other than her loveys and toes and feet! although it interrupts what i’m doing, usually, i know these times won’t ever come back, so playing and talking is a priority!
there’s still so much to look forward to and discover about being a mom…hopefully a great one!

can’t believe the time has gone by so quickly! i am loving being a mom and find that i have more tolerance and patience than i thought. i enjoy watching this baby grow and watching all the changes take place.
i love planning things for her and am currently looking for a needlepoint stocking kit to make for her first christmas. i also want to start some traditions we can share such as an advent calender or something. she won’t really be ready for stuff like that for a few years though.
it’s pretty cool, having a kid, there’s nothing like it! they teach you so much about so much!

everything is so new w/ a new baby. i do a lot of reading, but i think a lot of “knowing” what to do is common sense and what feels right. every baby is different, so the books/websites are just guides but i do look to them for advice. i know that i fall back on my own upbringing and values my parents have—her dad has some different opinions on child-rearing, so i’m anticipating some challening times in her future.
