1. Waking up when I woke up without needing an alarm (because it’s the weekend).
2. Having a nice cup of freshly-brewed coffee in the morning.
3. Going down to the Wolfville Farmers’ Market with my son in the rain.
4. Having some delicious pakoras and samosas for lunch.
5. Getting my hair cut. It’s the first time that my hair wasn’t cut by my mom (who is a hairdresser).

1. Waking up a little bit later than usual and seeing blue sky outside.
2. Biking downtown to go to the farmers market and getting all sorts of good food.

Going out to lunch and having a delicious omelet and a very tasty desert of Maple Creme Brulé.

Remarkably I’ve continued to do this for every day for quite a while and now I’m right at the 1000 post milestone, so I will break with my obsessive retroactive posting of an entry for every day to mark the occasion of 5000+ things that I’m grateful for to share my gratitude related to this goal.
Here are 5 things that I’m grateful for related to the goal of sharing 5 things that I’m grateful for every day:
1. The wonderful people I’ve met through the goal. Up to this point they are all virtual.
2. The comments and cheers and interaction in this goal. Amazing and inspiring.
3. The feeling of accomplishment of sitting down and reflecting upon things that I’m grateful for.
4. The oasis of peace in the time I spend looking back over the days and the gratitude that I’ve shared.
5. The courage and honesty of the community here and the support and generosity which gives me inspiration and hope.
1. Sleeping in at home.
2. Grinding coffee beans and vacuum-brewing a pot of coffee.
3. Going in to the city to see “The Hangover” with my daughter. It was funny and fun.
4. Preparing for workshops that I will be teaching.
5. Relaxing at home.
1. Waking up in Fredericton after a long drive and a late night arrival.
2. Having breakfast before driving back to Wolfville.
3. Stopping in Sackville and getting freshly-baked bread, some coffee and lemonade.
4. Dropping a daughter off in the city before driving home.
5. Sleeping in my own bed. It was nice to be home
1. Waking up early enough to go out walking around Montreal before we hit the road to go home.
2. Sipping a café-au-lait in a bowl and savouring a fresh bagel for breakfast.
3. Driving home and dividing the driving between 3 people.
4. Making a stop at Ikea to look around. We had some food and got some neat ice cube molds.
5. Arriving in Fredericton late at night and falling asleep very quickly.

Having a fresh bagel and coffee at St-Viateur Bagel & Cafe.
3. Walking around the city of Montreal and shopping (with a stop at the Apple Store) and eating.
4. A lovely meal at an Italian restaurant.
5. Going to see Days of Summer with Carolyn.
1. Waking up early and rested after a busy few days.
2. A nice brunch with relatives in downtown Fredericton.
3. Hitting the road and starting a drive to Montreal.

Arriving in Montreal around suppertime and checking in to the hotel.
5. Wandering around the beautiful city that is Montreal.
1. Being able to sleep in on the final morning of Sappyfest.
2. Getting a coffee at the Bridge Street Cafe.
3. Seeing Kenny Doran’s “Long Waiting Without Stars” at the Sackville Music Hall. It was a combination of music, video and poetry that was beautiful.
4. Stopping at Calactus in Moncton, NB on the way to Fredericton for a very delicious meal with my daughter.
5. Spending time talking with family at the end of a long day.
1. Waking up in the residence room in Sackville, New Brunswick feeling rested and happy.
2. Walking down to the Bridge Street Cafe for a cup of coffee.
3. Going out to brunch with my daughter.
4. Listening to amazing music from the afternoon until the evening as part of Sappyfest. The highlight was seeing Ohbijou play an amazing set.
5. Calling it a relatively early night and sleeping well.
