Film Club #1: JLG+AK

Here’s the idea – I’m suggesting three films by Jean-Luc Godard starring Anna Karina as the first films what can be called Film Club. The first one is JLG+AK .We’ll have 43 days to watch the films and then start to discuss them in the Cinephiles Group.
The films are Une Femme est une femme, Vivre sa vie, and Bande Ă  part .

Mini Virtual Film Festival

Even though there are similar goals, after a comment from Reesie and some discussion with NYCinephile, I thought I’d try this as a goal and to use the Cinephiles Google Group as a place to host the discussion. It’s no substitute for the experience of watching and discussing a film with people, but I thought it would be nice to try and replicate a bit of the experience of a well-programmed film series in a more compact and distributed format.
What I love about the way a good film screening series or festival is programmed is that it involves a series of choices about what films can work together and it comes from a point of view that someone has. So it tells you a bit about the films and a bit about the person making the choices and hopefully after viewing the films you have broadened your knowledge and appreciation of many different things.
