I have been enjoying life… not working as allowed me to travel quite a bit, visit friends, catch up on little projects, and explore parts of California I have not seen yet! I am fully enjoying it all right now!

Many factors 2 years ago

Sometimes when the stars align you enjoy life more than you knew you could. So many factors effect our mood and happiness. I strive to enjoy life to it’s fullest whether it’s going places or just enjoying my little condo. I do know it was much more of a challenge working for a miserable, pessimistic man who made certain aspects of life see so hopeless. I am happy I didn’t let him affect me on a day-by-day basis. Now I put forth so much less energy to enjoy all aspects of my life working for someone who is so positive and full of energy. Funny how sometimes we don’t realize it until we look back.

Good-bye 3 years ago

How much more can I enjoy life than leaving and going on vacation!? It opens me up to so many more experiences and makes me see what is good and bad about my life and what I need to fix. Fortunately, it’s all the easy things I need to fix: find cool people to mingle with after work, turn off the TV more often, and don’t check email/Internet much after work! Oh… and if I could land a job near home, that would be PERFECT!

Live it up 3 years ago

I think when I made this one of my goals, it was during the Winter when things slowed down a bit and work wasn’t going super well. Also, I felt like work was slowly emcompassing my life but a change in boss helped fix that. I have a lot more flexibility now and I am almost too busy to do things that I want to do (meaning, my social life is overrunning my social life) which is an excellent problem to have. I have been outside enjoying people, partying, on the beach, exercising, and living it up. I’d like to have a little more time for traveling as I don’t get enough vacation time but that will come. Patience.

Little things add up 3 years ago

Sometimes enjoying life is just taking things as they come. I mean, today was anything but a perfect day but I am sure I’ll think back and laugh about how stupid some things were (i.e. lost sunglasses, lost stamps, late for work, etc). (Long story). ANYWAY, I do not want to stress out or get pissed off about little things because they affect everything else in my life and everyone else in my life. So I have spent the past couple weeks playing and taking care of the new kitties, going out after work to the beach and running or blading, going out after soccer for drinks, and have friends in from out of town for a major concert or meeting them out at various baseball games. This is enjoying life. It’s nothing big but sometimes it’s all the little things. I mean, it’s nice to sit back at the pool at a resort and think to yourself: now this is the life; and at some points that is very appropriate but not always the case. As I get older I see that health is the main thing to appreciate and while you have it and everyone else does around you, just go with it and enjoy it b/c it may not always be there.

Enjoying it all the time 3 years ago

I am sort of surprised I have no entries for this one. Then again, I think I enjoy life all the time. I would enjoy it more if I didn’t have to work as much, and it’s not like I normally put in more than 40 hours. However, working 25-35 would be perfect I think. But that’s reality- it probably won’t happen.

Whether I have to work or not, I think I make the most of what I have most of the time. Not everyone has a good day all the time but I try. Last yr was out of the norm and was a little tough in many ways but I feel myself settling back into my normal self. I think I need to surround myself with some more witty, inspiring, and fun people and I will be optimizing my enjoyment! ;)

Many of my goals parallel this one so I think “enjoying life” is the umbrella over many of the other entries. I don’t want to delete this entry b/c I think it’s important even though I probably won’t have a whole lot of entries.

Need I say more? 3 years ago

This is something that should be everyone’s goal- enjoy life! Any why not? This is a goal I hope to achieve day in and day out. And it does not mean that I won’t work or won’t have to study or do something I completely hate, but it just means to try to make the most of what you have to do without over doing it.

To many people I know work WAY too many hours. I don’t know where they think it’s going to get them. I know for some it’s about having a good retirement. For me, it’s the here and now. When I am 60 or 70, I am not going to be able to enjoy life the way I am not. And shit, I might not even make it that long. So I plan on doing what I can now to make the most of my life.

I guess that could mean a lot of things. For one, I do plan on traveling somewhere foreign once per year. It might mean quitting my job for a while so I could experience other things in life. Having a huge house or nice car do nothing for me. There is too many other things to enjoy. It could also mean just laying out on the beach and doing absolutely nothing. John Lennon once said: Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.
