Almost...

I was practically there in December… it was more like a 4 pack. I’ll take it. The holidays hit and now I don’t have much of anything! ;) Oh well… I know I could get there and it’s not the utmost importance to me. I made this a goal just to see if I could do it and to motivate myself to keep a strict diet and to work out regularly! :)

Waivering

Yes, this summer has been a bit back-and-forth but again I am noticing significant progress, of course, a few weeks before Halloween and the holidays!! Being away and being on a virtually 100% protein diet did a lot. It carried over when I got back to the states with the addition of fiber. I haven’t gotten myself completely back into the workout routine but I see the little extra fat has been shed nicely so we’ll take another shot at this six-pack! ;)

Two steps back

So I know about what weight level I need to hit to get a six pack. I know it’s there, I just need to expose it by burning off the fat. Last yr in August is the closest I have ever come. I finally got to a tough spot weight wise about two weeks ago just to go back to the Midwest and pick up 7 lbs! I didn’t think it would be too hard to drop and I am about 1.4 lbs above where I was before I left, and this is within 3 days. And yes, I am eating, just better, and working out. So if I could drop a couple more, focus on not eating crap, and working out, I migth have a shot at a 6 pack again maybe in a month or so. We’ll see… if I don’t, it’s not the end of the world but I thought it would be a good goal esp since I never really came close in my 20s.

2 steps back...

I was doing well getting in shape for the summer. I think it’s the lack of day light that sometimes has been wanting to eat comfort food or be lazy. I have been good about limiting that and working out, esp over the last month. This past week, my grandma passed away so we all flew home to Chicago. I cannot not go without enjoying some of the great things about Chicago, namely food. This morning I weighed myself and I was 4 lbs heavier. I am confident I will drop this quickly but it had to be done- when you’re removed from good pizza and hotdogs, you need to load up and savor every moment. I don’t regret eating what I did, it just means I’ll have to work a little bit harder these next couple weeks!

Want some beer?

It’s ironic that a 6-pack of beer could ruin your own 6-pack, isn’t it? I think this is a really tough goal and it’s definitely not my intention to be buff! This goal is more about discipline than anything else. I never thought about it much until last summer when I changed up my diet a little and got into a routine that included lots of soccer and all of a sudden I saw the outlines of a 6-pack. I was close to getting it but Halloween + the holidays put an end to that, and it doesn’t take much really. Being so close, I think it’s possible to obtain this year so as the days grow longer and I started being a lot more active, I hope to accomplish this goal by summer’s end!
