May be all I need to do is keep writing about it…I did have one Dew on Friday but that was because I was thirsty and the water at school is kind of gross. So I was not CRAVING it like I used to, I just wanted something to drink. I thought that was pretty cool. If I had a bottle of water I probably would have had that. It has not helped me loose any weight yet but that was not my main goal in dropping the soda habit. Yahoo! I think I am getting there.

OK so I know it has not been an uber long time but a day at a time right? This weekend I had a few cups of diet coke but no Dew. AND the best part of all this is that I feared the headaches of the withdrawl. But for whatever reason I really have not been getting them as I have in the past. The headaches where usually the reason I gave up and ran for a bottle of Dew and a few Tylenol. I have decided I should part the money I spend on the soda each week (generally between $5-$10) aside and save it for the trip to Machu Picchu I would like to take.
Well…I also thought I would make this a Lent goal too. So far so good. My goal for Lent was not to give it up completely (because I knew I just would not be able to do that) but because a friend was saying her church says instead of giving up somethings wants you to improve something, I decided that I would try to give up Mountain Dew as much as possible. Hopefully by the end of Lent I would not feel like I had to have it any more.
I have gone a few days and have had just a few sips. That is right…just sips. I have not even replaced it with more soda. Lots of water and a few sips of Dew. Not bad for a start I guess.
I have a friend who needs to quit smoking. I told her we should do this together, her to stop smoking and me stop drinking so much Mt. Dew.
So I keep going…
I did not think this would be hard to do…boy have I been wrong. I do well for a few days and drink water. I have gone as far as almost a week but I always go back…grrrrrrrrrr
