overcome my aversion to phones

I am doing better with this. I still don’t like calling at work to ask for money (sponsorships or running ads), but I can pretty comfortably pick up the phone and make any calls I need to for myself. There are still calls I don’t like to make, especially something like asking someone I don’t really know for something. Little by little I’m getting there.

Not sure why I’m like this other than it’s probably related to my fear of public speaking, although when I was a kid I had an aversion to flushing the toilet, so I’ve had strange aversions before. I’m getting better about this, but I’ve got a long ways to go before I’m comfortable picking up a phone and calling anyone. I’m especially dreading this next week when I have to do a bunch of calling for work (at a newspaper) and ask if businesses want to run a Christmas ad. I hate asking people for money (essentially what this is).
