I don’t know how I’m ever going to do this since there’s no way to predict them (that I know of), and I never just happen outside looking at the northern sky in the middled of the frigid cold winter nights.

... but I’ve always wanted to see them. I’m in southern Minnesota, so they don’t happen often, but my dad’s seen them 3-5 times in my lifetime, and every time I tell him to wake me up the next time, but he never has. Now he’s under strict orders to call me if he sees them, no matter what time, weeknight or not. I think I saw them once, but it was a very mild case – just a haze of blue on the northern horizon. I’d like to see the full effect.
