You know, I think this is going to have to wait until the summer, or maybe even until college. Not that I’m giving it up! Just postponing it. Already got a lot on my plate.

Update 3 years ago

Or not. My mom says she’ll pay for lessons at Health Watch. About to call them up and ask when their next sessions are.

The First Aid classes are on June 3rd, which are the SAT II tests, and June 14th, which is in the middle of finals. That part of this goal will have to wait. However, there are plenty of times for CPR classes.

If I get both, it will cost $105. Ack, Nathan wasn’t kidding when he said it was expensive. Maybe I can ask about packages and see if that lowers the price any.

Update 3 years ago

I’ve been told that the classes I mentioned last time are expensive – fine. Now they’re a last resort.

I poked around the Red Cross website some more, and I found more centers and offices than just the main chapter:

West Los Angeles Service Ctr.: 16 miles away
Greater Burbank Service Ctr./San Fernando Valley Service Ctr.: 10 miles away
East Los Angeles Service Ctr.: 32 miles away
Santa Clarita Valley Service Ctr.: 28 miles away
South Bay Service Ctr.: 32 miles away
Inglewood Service Ctr.: 24 miles away

It seems we have a relative winner. Greater Burbank it is!

GoogleMaps is AWESOME! I typed in ‘first aid classes’, and my zip code, and it found somewhere near me! EEE!

Health Watch Training Solutions CPR
(818) 789-8907
(818) 703-1101

That’s what it found! Yaay! I’ll call them when I get back from the Shabbaton.

Update 3 years ago

It would seem the thing I want is Community First Aid And Safety. The nearest Red Cross chapter is a schlep, but there has to be somewhere closer. The internet’s being a pain – maybe the yellow pages? Ick.

Info 4 years ago

I think in seventh grade, I took a sort of elective and was certified in First Aid and CPR, but certifications expire after a year. That and I barely remember a thing. There’s a place where my mom used to work that says it teaches the course, so that’s where I’ll look.
