Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

i want to paint my own house

13th Sep

Can’t wait to paint my new house. Already planned the colour combinations of my rooms and all that’s pending is ‘Cash’ to make it happen.

6th sep

really running low on my cash – am left with only $250 to last till end of Oct. Don’t know how I’m going to manage. Only know for sure that I’ll have to put off this goal of mine till my 1st pay check from my new job.

Need to get out from my rented room to save costs and move in to the new resale house even before I can do the paints and renovation. Am gonna need to put up with the bare essentials and take the resale house as it is, lot stock and barrel

23rd aug

visited my new flat today with a girlfriend who’s also unemployed. Surveyed the house, and there’s not much patching of holes to the walls that needs to be done.

Decided to just paint the house in phases due to my dry funds. I’ll go for just a paint job on my own room first as I need to get out of my rented room to move in to my own new house, even if it’s unfurnished to save costs.

Going back to do the real painting job on monday, 29th aug. Need to get the walls wet on Sunday, get the paints, get the brushes and the rollers, buy the ladder and all on Sunday, 28th aug before we actually do it the next day.

Can’t imagine how it will be like..am putting all my trust to my girlfriend who’s done it and likes doing it. Hope it turns out well.
