I’m in my third year of college and so far I’ve racked up about $18,000 in loans. Most are unsubsidized. I’ve budgeted my current loan out into each month of the semester. Whatever’s left over after all of my living expenses at the end of each month will go to paying off previous loans. Nip them in the bud! I have a part-time job too, so I’ll be saving to pay for next summer without a loan.
