At last, a sunny weekend! 5 months ago

I was finally able to weed, mow, plant some ivy in the beds, plant my herb and veg containers, and put down mulch. I want to replace my furniture but I am waiting for my uncle to finish making my chairs and table.I planted Nandinas and a new climbing rose in the front yard and cleaned my porch. The work never ends, but luckily I enjoy this kind of thing.

It's that time again. 6 months ago

Almost every Memorial Day weekend I overhaul the back yard. But this year, I also have to work on the front and do a major change in landscaping. My neighbor’s Magnolia tree has a disease and it has spread to my bushes. I have started digging them up and I will be replacing them and will periodically treat the new bushes with an anti-fungal.I’ll post the before and after pics.

I love my new mower! 16 months ago

It is electric and it is so light and easy to use.

Early Spring work...done for now. 19 months ago

I painted and stained the shop, propegated tons of Jessamine and transplanted Mondo grass. I just want to be able to mow this summer and water a little, but no more big chores for now. These photos are a little scrapbook of the yard taken this morning.

Finally, it's finished. 19 months ago

What a difference! I took this photo at the midpoint, I think the stain looks great! It’s been a crazy productive weekend already.

I need a weekend without rain :( 19 months ago

This is terrible to say, because we have had a drought the last year. But every weekend I get geared up to stain the shop and it rains. There is absolutely nothing I can do on my list this weekend if it rains again. Grrrrr.

If the weather is nice..... 20 months ago

I will be staining the top of the green monster (now white, in case you missed the overhaul)with a sprayer and a stain called “Chesnut”. I want the shop to look like a secret cottage. I like the idea of that vine growing all over it.And that ramp is being painted too.

My backyard is WILD 21 months ago

It’s sad, I work for a landscape company, yet I cannot seem to keep my backyard in good shape. I have problems with drainage, poison ivy, and a pecan tree that I have been treating for a disease for the last 3 years. This tree dumps leaves year round and it prevents grass from growing during the spring months.
