try knitting a cable pattern

I put the sweater on hold for the moment and instead knit an aran cable afghan square as a part of a knitting exchange & am really happy with how it turned out! :)

Well, I swatched for the pattern I want to tackle & then tried out the cable & I feel good about it … I suppose I could technically cross this item off my list, but will wait until I’ve actually knit the full sweater :)

I found a gorgeous pattern that uses celtic knot cables on the arms and I’ve been telling myself I should really give cables a try, so may just five in with both feet & give the pattern a go.
