James W. —How did you manage to get hired by such a big company as Republic due to your incarceration and heavy drug use?!! (what about that slip up a couple of years ago? once a user….) It amazes me how they didn’t even bother to check your references! They must have been REALLY desperate to fill the position!

It is sad that society puts so much emphasis on being young and beautiful. I couldn’t stand to watch all of “Age of Love”. But, curiousity got the best of me and I tuned in for the last few minutes of the finale. It was quite a disappointment that youth triumphed yet again and the suitor chose the 23yo when he could have chosen the beautiful, older, and wiser of the two.

I know I am not very active on this site but, I was surprised and worried when I noticed that my friend BetterRed was no longer on the site. I miss her. Red was a great friend and a real hoot despite all the crap that she was going through she ALWAYS managed to be there for people. I wish I had been there more for her.

Funny how you take things for granted, friends, your health for instance. It wasn’t until I lost a percentage of my hearing (for no apparent reason) that I realized how much I am missing when people talk, dialogue in movies, and just on the phone! It is so frustrating!

I did manage to get my butt out there again. I went on my first date after my breakup and it was so PATHETIC. I went on a date with a much older guy (geezer, really) and it was just okay. And, then I get an email from him a couple days later saying “thanks but no thanks”!!! Thank God for my friends otherwise my fragile self-esteem would have taken yet another hit! Now all I can do is laugh. I’m thinking of setting him up with someone now (from his generation)!

The one thing that I am doing that makes me feel so much better is exercise. Still haven’t lost any weight though but, hopefully I am gaining muscle??
