learn to play bass

used… but I don’t want to sell them in case I decide I want to play again some tiem in the future… Turns out my friend BDC wants to learn and was goign to buy himself a cheap one to see if he liked it… So we decided i will take my electric and my amp over there and he can use them for awhile….

I somehow ended up dating 2 guitarists back to back… (7 years later, here I am!) But not like your garden variety basement guitarists. Like serious, real, eduacated musician types. Nonetheless, after 7 years of being a rather unwilling band groupie and general roadie, at some point you say, if I can’t beat ‘em… join ‘em!

So, I decided I wanted to learn to play the bass. I have an ESP 5 string electric (neck thru), and a Micheal Kelly Limited Edition 4 string acoustic. I have an assortment of fashionable straps, an an Ibanez amp, training devices, playback devices, tuners, you name it. I have taken lessons, I have the books and the videos and the cds and dvds. I had the boyfriend too and even a band for back up…

And here I am two years later, and I still can’t play more than Rock You Like a Hurricane… I just plain stink. haha I don’t know if I stink because I don’t practice or I stink because I have no talent. I think it is a combination of both…
