In my long weekend in Las Vegas, I did pretty well for myself. I won $180 the first night, $190 the second night, lost my $125 buy-in to a poker tournament, then lost $460 in the Bellagio over the course of about 30 minutes. My last stop was the roulette wheel, where I won $225.
If you do the math, my net result is that I won $10 on my trip. Seems like a lot of work for nothing.
But in reality, I had a fantastic time, met some great people, and it cost me virtually nothing.
OK, back to the point of this post. The poker tournament is the part of the weekend that intrigued me the most. There were some very interesting dynamics going on at that tournament. I think I have some room for improvement, but could certainly learn to play well enough to eventually win a tournament. This could take some time.
Poker, anyone?
