I started again four weeks ago and have bene doing 30 minutes minimum a day. The last few days I’ve been playing for an hour though, and in the last four weeks I’ve lost 9 pounds.

Still doing at least 30 minutes of this every day… about half the time it’s more like 45 minutes to an hour.
Hopefully I’ll see a few more pounds come off over the next few weeks.
Besides that though, it’s fun to try and up my scores and unlock new songs to work on, as well as see myself able to do faster and more complex songs too.
35 minutes on it again today… I’m trying out DDR 2, and I don’t like the workout mode on this one so much as you can’t choose anything but the first song. After that it just starts throwing stuff at you, and if I can;t keep up… well, not so much fun. So I work out with it on game mode instead and that works fine. Heart rate is up, I’m moving non-stop, and I can pick songs that challenge me as well as I can keep up with and feel I’m succeeding at the game as well.
I had ordered one of the heavy duty arcade style controller mats and it came in last night. After spending what I spent on it (how much I choose not to think about lol) I figure I have no excuse to not be using this thing every day. It’s definitely stable, and a lot better then the flimsy foam mats, but not quite as sturdy as the actual arcade platforms. Still, it’s a big improvement.
Of course it’s also huge and weighs about 35 or 40 pounds. Ugh.
Anyway, today I did about 35 minutes on it, and will probably do a bit more before I go to bed. I managed to score an “A” on one of the songs too! Sounds silly, but I’m usually feeling good if I manage a “C”.
Goal – To DDR often enough to lose 20 pounds by Halloween. Realistically, I’ll probably only make it to 10 or 12, but I’ll be happy with that too. :)
35 minutes of DDR today and not only was a sweating and exhausting, I felt great. Too bad I still really suck at this… lol.
At least it’s a ton of fun!
I decided to buy DDR for my xbox, and start doing it at home on the days I’m not at the gym. I go to the gym three days a week as it is to swim a half mile, which is good for using all my muscles and stretching and it just feels great, but I need to do something else on the other days so I figured this will do it.
My first attempt had my laughing and screaming and all but faling on my ass in my living room. I really hope I get better at this quickly!
