in crafts magazines such as Cloth, Paper, Scissors, and craft books, such as Traci Bautista’s Collage Unleashed. So I decided to make an art journal filled with doodles and collage.
My daughter will be getting it as a gift for her birthday on May 24, so I’ve been working on it pretty steadily to get it done in time. Having this time constraint is actually a good thing for me. If I were making it for myself, I would stall and never get it done, if I started at all. Doodling is something that I’ve wanted to do for awhile, but was afraid to thanks to my inner critic.
Now that I’ve jumped in and filled a 30 page journal with doodles, I hope that I can progress on to drawing. I used to draw many years ago, but have gotten out of that habit. And the inner critic thing has stopped me from getting back into it. Hopefully, doodling is a step in the right direction.
