Unlike most “best of”s, there are more than a few good songs here. I heard ” Behind the Wall of Sleep” in Old Navy today. I’m sure I was the only person in the store that knew that song- most of the pople there probably weren’t even BORN when that song came out. So I had to come home and dig up this CD.

In the era before downloading songs, I bought this CD for
” Joey” which- if a person knows any Concrete Blonde songs( big if)- would be the one song they know. Although I like Johnette Napolitano’s voice, I don’t like any of the other songs that much.
several just plain great rock songs, plus mexican(?) and blues influences , too
The song Shelter is worth the price of this CD ( or whatever itunes charges for it) . The opening guitar chords always give me a little rush when they come in.
The Patti Lupone version. This CD is so much fun to sing along to. Cole Porter was such a great lyricist.
good , but it doesn’t really speak to me anymore. I just read her new book about how she almost became a rock star, and that reminded me that I have her 2 CDs but hadn’t listened to either in years.
