simplify my wardrobe

I got rid of a lot of what was in my closet, down to casual stuff and a few dressy items. Now I have a new job and need ” business casual” or better. Whatever that means. I hope to get a few decent pieces and supplement them with cheaper things and not go nuts buying things I may not need.

The clearance racks in certain stores defeat me. How can I pass
up a linen skirt at H&M for $8.00? Or a skirt at Target for $2.97 ( seriously). At least both are black, unlike the bright orange ( lobster, they call it) shirt I bought off the clearance rack at Eddie Bauer. Lobster colored shirts are not part of the plan, but at least I’ve worn it several times, unlike the clothes with tags still on I took to the consignment store today.

at least the black pants, black dress and black and white t-shirts I bought at Target this week fit into my plan more or less. They are all simple and decent quality for the money

pick a weight and stay at it so my simplified wardrobe fits. i have clothes that cover a 50 pound weight variance, which is ridiculous for a lot of reasons.

1-get rid of ugly/cheap/ill-fitting/what was I thinking clothes.
2-buy good quality items that will last, with only the occasional cheap trendy items for fun
3-buy things that coordinate
4-do not buy things that i might fit into someday just because they are on sale
5- get things tailored/made to fit ME!
6-focus on just few colors + white and black
then I hope i will have a little style and look more like a grown up!
