facebook is everywhere 7 months ago

Today I saw that Dentyne commercial which is based around facebook. Even their slogan “make face time” is totally facebook orientated. I just find that so weird how a brand of gum is using facebook’s popularity to sell itself. At least the message is good. But it doesn’t stop there, Facebook is everywhere. Cell phone commercials advertising how now you can use Facebook on your phone. It’s all over the news too; the front page of the newspaper one day was about how a mother reunited with her lost children through facebook, and a news broadcast showed the facebook page of the student who brought a gun into my highschool. I even read a news article about a credit card company who used Facebook to notify a family of bankruptcy after all other efforts for communication failed. Does no one else find this crazy?
And yet… at the end of the day I find myself on Facebook. I keep saying I have to make a plan to cut back, but I don’t. I keep thinking I have to stop checking it from my phone every hour, but I don’t. When I’m on it, I keep telling myself I should log off soon, but I don’t.
Bottom line: no progress made.

Today I deleted 32 friends on facebook. 7 months ago

I have a friend who brags about how many friends she has on facebook, which in my opinion is ridiculous. It’s like a popularity contest or something. I don’t need to be friends with someone I met once at a party, or someone I went to high school with, but never said one word to. And I don’t need to know what they are doing every minute or see photos from their latest vacation, because I REALLY just don’t care.
Hence Facebook cleansing. It’s got to be done.

boosterjuicegirl is... so addicted to facebook. 7 months ago

Facebook is so weird. It’s like people get obsessed with creating this little virtual version of themselves. Maybe so they can feel like they have some kind of identity or something, because they don’t like the one they have in the real world. Then they can feel good about how many friends, and how many wall posts, and how many fucking event invites they have.
I must break free.
