Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

not doing great on this!

Besides blogging/e@mailing and taking care of the garden, I haven’t done mush on my hobbies this summer.

OH! I remember doing one thing… I built 2 decks of MTG cards and I went playing more often the during the school year.

Not BAD, but far from GREAT.

:-(

Some pics - 2

Here is a pic of the micro-wave cabinet I made for our kitchen. The picture is not very good, but you get the idea. I’ll post more pics when I have some.

Some pics - 1

Here is a pic of a bunk bed I made for my son when we moved in our house. It was one of the first two pieces I did.

Ready to go.

The garage is clean and organized, most of the last things to do on the house are done and the plans I ordered from Lee Valley will be here tomorrow. The only thing missing….. time and a few pieces of wood! ;-)

By the way, I just loged on this website about a johari list, have a look.

Doesn't look very good

I had planned to finish fixing the garage and place all my tools back in their proper places at least a month ago. Then I had planned to start working on our new kitchen table or our new entertainment center, but nothing as been done. I was sooooo depressed of all the rain we have had in the past month that I didn’t do a thing. I barely finished insulating the garage for the winter.

... have to do more!!

I'll be starting soon!

This weekend, I’ve been cleaning the garage, so soon I’ll have room to start working on my hobbies: carpentry and furniture making. I just can’t wait!

Simon has gotten 9 cheers on this goal.
