I have great coworkers and spending time with them is making it easier to cope with the hard weeks of winter.
I read great books in the last 2 weeks and it filled my head with ideas for my own book. Not ideas about the plot, but ideas about how to articulate it and what level of language I want to use for the public I’m aiming at.
A couple of years back, I had a bad cup of tea and it was the 1st I ever had and it pushed me away from it, but I decided to give it a shot again this week and I bought a good brand of tea(just can’t remember the name) and it tasted verry good. So, my mind is not completely set, but I’m starting to like it.
I love winter, but lately it was extremely cold. Lots of sun, but very cold. I missed having snow and when I saw on the news that some place in N-Y state had some 13 feet of snow in the past week…. let’s say I was jealous…..... but…... on wednesday, we had a small snow storm and we got about a foot. It felt good to finally get some snow. I love snow!!
I was shovelling the last few inches of snow today when a car stopped in from of the house, it was a friend of mine from work with her boyfriend. They were just stopping by to say hello and to see the renovations we did on our house. It was very very nice to have some unexpected visitors.
Last week I felt drained, but today I feel great!! ;-)

On my way to school this morning, I boought Xmas cards for the girls. At School, I helped with the breakfast program and then I sat down to write my wishes in he cards. When the girls opened their cards, they were all happy for the little words I had put in. Since it was an activity day today, we had a lot of time to chat and we talked about how nice it is to have such good friends in the work place. I’m so happy to have met these 3 nice women. They’re beautiful, they’re funny, they’re interesting and they have things to say and best of all, I have so much fun with them. It’s been so long I made new friends (not just people you talk to by the cofee maker) that I’m all excited!! ;-)
I don’t know if I’ll have time to come back in the next few days, so to my 43ers friends (Blueskies86 in particular) have a great Christmas and take care of yourselves during the holydays.
Simon :-)

It has been a crazy last couple of weeks at school. Not all things were good, but I now realize that a lot of good things happened. We had our staff xmas party and I had quite a good time with my coleagues and I can now say that a few of them are becoming very good friends. Luckily enough for me ;-) most of them are very nice women that get along pretty well with my wife. Also, Playing floor hockey with my coleagues is brigning some of us even closer. So, last night, my family and the girls went out to eat and we had a lot of fun. It’s the first new friends I have since I stopped working in the Far North and even though it was only a small trip to the local rotisserie, We have been going through a few hard things together lately and we all know we can count on each other and it feels great.

Thursday was an extremely long day for me. I started with a meeting with other teachers to talk about some student cases. Then I had two classes with a short break in between. At lunch, I had an unplanned meeting with the “Green team” (some kind of commity of teachers and students working to make our school more environment friendly) to talk about our next action (a day where people eating at the cafeteria will bring their own washable dishes to save on paper or plastic plates). Then I had 2 more classes with another short break. After school I ran to the daycare to get my daughter and ran back at school to play floor hockey with some of the staff. While playing, I got hurt on the hand. Someone accidently hit my hand with their hockey stick. Fortunately, the bestest of best part of the day was having my 5 Y.O. daughter there taking care of me: here’s some water daddy; wipe your forehead with this towel daddy; I can hold your stick while you rest daddy; daddy you’re injured, here let me give you a hug to make the pain go away; ... She was sooo cute, taking care of me like that. I just love her.
So, here’s a big hug to my little girl.

Woke up this morning and didn’t feel like getting out of bed… and I probably should have stayed there because almost everything went wrong this morning… almost… just as I was gettin out of the door, my daughter ran after me to have a “good day” kiss and a hug. Hapiness in life’s simple pleasures! ;)
