It’s been over a year since I got my braces on, and I’m now used to having them on. One of my archwires broke last month and I had to wait a week to get it fixed. My main worry – with a few months to go until I’m supposed to get the braces off – is that my top lip is disappearing. I had a tooth taken out before treatment and am worrying that it shouldn’t have been removed. I had plump, fairly even lips before I got the braces on. Hoping that I won’t end up with a ‘mean’ look.

Just wondering if anyone has ever had a bracket come loose or break off during their treatment period? And how did it happen? I really disliked the taste of the etching gel and the cement they used to glue them on and want to avoid having to have any of the brackets replaced during the time I have to have the braces on, if at all possible.

Hi all, just got braces put on a couple of days ago and have a strange ‘itchy’ sensation on my back teeth. Can anyone explain it, or have they experienced it before?
