read french, write french, speak french.

I haven’t been actively practicing French in a while, but I recently heard a conversation in French, and also watched a movie with French subtitles. I understood the majority of both with relative ease. It’s nice to know after not studying for a few years I have retained a lot of comprehension skills.

Now all I need is to practice speaking.

I am over halfway finished with this book, and if I have enough time, I should finish it soon. I can recall a good chunk of vocabulary from this book, so I think I’m getting back on track. I think soon I will listen to a few LPs I have en francais, such as Albert Camus and Voltaire’s Candide. I also might pick up Voltaire’s Candide for reading, as well as a book I have of French symbolist poetry. Maybe then I will be able to write some…

I think my first goal concerning this will be to read Le Petit Prince and get the majority of it. I’ve started and I’m comprehending a fair amount (enough to get through the story easily enough).
