Not in a negative dulling sense, but as second nature. The other day while playing I found it much easier to relax and freely flow improv’d rudiments all across my kit. I was impressed at my ability to switch up the cymbal/snare/tom work. It’s nice to know that even though I’ve only been semi playing for a year, I’m making progress. Hopefully this will continue and flourish.

Mostly I just jam to rock tunes (Interpol, Death Cab For Cutie, Shellac, Slint, Isis, Cult of Luna, My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai, etc), but I think I’m learning a few things. Need to practice my tom fills though. I also have considered getting a book on independent limb movement, because I seem to have problems coordinating my limbs and assigning them their own values. We shall see, though. I have been practicing at least once a day, and hopefully that will pay off.
