grow my own vegetables

At last, I can tick off another goal… I’ve yet got to do some harvesting but that’s not far away…
Sown some cucumber as well but I may have pulled out half of the seedlings thinking they were weeds.. my bad…

Still no spuds planted, neighbour’s spuds are already emerging from underneath the lawn clippings mulch…
Excuse? Of course! Time!
I dug 3-4 inch channels leading down to the back of the garden, initiallly I was going to plant the spuds in these channels. But then dad advised me to actually plant them in between so I’d have plenty of topsoil for to ‘heap them up’ two months later.

I’m planting spuds this spring.
Last fall I removed a few trees from my backyard and added a good layer of manure and compost.
I just gave the soil another good mix and dug a drainage channeling along the side.
Soon I will do some googling on how to succesfully plant potatoes, which will be the only plant as I will be using it as a break crop, to really work that soil up, get my hands in there and get all that rubbish out that’s still there, mainly glass, plastic, steel wire an more. Wish me luck!
