Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

The whole scale watching thing drove me nuts! I’d rather live an active lifestyle and KNOW that I am healthy than let the scale drive me batty. I know I lost some weight but whether or not it was 10 pounds – I could care less.



(she breathes a sigh of relief)

I’m back down to the six pound mark. Whew!!!

My dog’s vet informed me this week that my dog is 5 pounds overweight. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I take better care of my dog than I do myself. In this case, this is a good thing. I am going to add runs and difficult hikes to my weekly routine to help him lose the extra weight. Hopefully it will be enough for me to lose the final four pounds. Here’s to hoping!



Back pedaling

Put on 3lbs sniif, sniff I have a small frame – trust me, you can tell ;(



Progress is good :0)

I’ve lost a total of six pounds! The first week I lost 3lbs and it has been slow losing the rest. But now that I am more than halfway, I am very happy!!

Looking down, I don't like what I see

I’m not usually like this. I’m not one of those girls that is constantly complaining about her weight (I leave that to my friends). But I am seriously uncomfortable in my own skin. This is my first time for this sort of thing. Even when I was pudgy in H.S., I never noticed or I didn’t care . . . not sure which. NEway, this is a serious problem: I just don’t have the time to devote to a serious workout schedule and I like food too much to change my diet. What is a girl to do?! There are 3.5 weeks of school left, then it’s operation – LOSE THAT BELLY!



Step one

Bought a scale. 120 lbs. :0(

But I figured roughly 10 pounds would trim my tummy. I like wearing bikinis at the beach. If I did that right now, I’d scare children. I’ve gotta get rid of this winter buldge! Why do I have to like food so much?
