Going to need one of these if I ever hope to step outside of th US 4 years ago

I don’t think you can even get to Canada anymore without a passport. I’m not sure if you ever could, really. I wouldn’t know, as I’ve never tried!

I was told to expect this to take about 90 days, so it would be smart to do this sooner rather than later.
