I’ve just blocked it out, so it should be ready to wear this evening. Plenty of time before Fall comes around. Feels great to have a nice project wrapped up!

I’m down to the last five inches or so of the first scarf I’ve ever made for myself. It’s nearly done!
38 ridges remaining. The weather is cool enough that I might be able to get a fair amount done tonight when I get home. We’ll see, though. I’m mostly just hoping to be done before the week is up.
I’ve done 5 ridges of the final chunk. That means 55 ridges remain before I have finished this scarf. That’s something like 6,500 stitches, so I don’t think I’ll be quite finished by the end of the weekend. You know, what with it being Sunday afternoon and all.
I’ve decided not to do 7 chunks. That would probably make the scarf 10 feet long! Five chunks will be good enough.
You know what? It’s a really cool feeling to realize now it is easier to tally how much is remaining rather than how much I’ve done.
The decision to knit on the bus has really accelerated the process, no doubt about it. I figure I’ve got about 2 feet left on my scarf. It might even be done by this weekend if I can get a properly hyper level of activity going.
Maybe I shouldn’t have made such a dang huge scarf. I might need to pause for a little while if I run out of yarn, since I won’t be getting my first paycheck for about 2 weeks.
So far I’ve knitted or crocheted about five scarves for Brooke, but I still haven’t bothered to make one for myself. Okay, so the one I’m working on now (gray number, very wide, all in garter stitch) has been officially designated as mine.
Except that Brooke gets it whenever she wants, obviously.
