Travel at home and abroad

I’m “traveling” at home this weekend: I am finishing the primer painting of my house outside, moving from east to west. I have only the back to do, and it will probably take me the entire weekend to complete, but that’s my weekend. I’ll work in the mornings for 3-4 hours.

Saw family there this weekend. I love the place. Also went to Farmington, Prairie Grove, and a slew of other little towns. I returned to my childhood roots. It was great. Love the place!

I attended a week-long conference there and really like the town. I have driven through Tulsa many times, but didn’t spend any time there. I liked it and would visit again.

for training in student learning assessment and institutional effectiveness with Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute. Looking forward to that!

to help my sister who is going to have a major surgery. I’ve never been to Syracuse, NY. I wish it were under more relaxing circumstances, but I am also glad I can help my sister. I’ll be there for 10-14 days. She’ll be laid up in her place, but she said she wants me to get out and about some while I’m there. I plan to do that.

on 12/17 with my friend. I always like going to that little 1-horse town! We have a mutual friend who lives there now and will have lunch with her. I plan to go to four stores while I’m there. I know which ones to go to, so I won’t waste any time browsing. I’m looking forward to it.

I want to visit my friend who just moved there, and go to Niagara Falls. Not sure how far it is from Syracuse, but that is really the only thing I want to do. NY City, 2nd to NF.

for home emergencies. At this rate I won’t have any time saved to travel! Part of the problem is not having enough foresight to circumvent some (all is impossible) of these emergencies. Part of it is that I have so many things to deal with that I can’t always prepare ahead of time. As my life becomes more simple, I hope the emergencies lessen considerably.

I’ve never been there, but I’ll be going there sometime this year, maybe in early October. I’m looking forward to it.

Guess I’ll be travelling there in the near future to visit my BFF. I don’t know the name of the town she is in, but I hope it’s upstate in a rural area.
