Sending in Reba's registration

Today I’m sending in her registration, Return Receipt Requested. This is a huge procrastination for me—11 years! Step 1 in a number of steps leading to registration of her baby.

New siding on my house

Our nephew said he would put on new siding on our house in exchange for my single horse trailer. I was thinking of selling that trailer! So I said yes. After today, he’ll be half done with the project for getting the siding up. He’ll have to do the back half of the house, then do all the extra little things that need to be done (caulking, etc.). This is major enhancement to our lives! What a great guy he is!

One thing a day in my home office

I am using this goal to accomplish one thing a day in my home office to clear it out and turn it into a multi-purpose space of office and guest room. For over a month I have done at least one thing, and yesterday was the first day I didn’t physically do something. I walked into my office and looked around for something I could do in a minute (all the time I had), but there was nothing. As I drove to work, I thought of various things that I can store. I am down to the “keep” stuff that isn’t useful for the new space use. I decided to buy banker’s boxes at Office Max this weekend to store books, dissertation papers and journals that are not needed for the new space, plus store some furniture and closet stuff. Accomplishing isn’t necessarily a physical activity. This I learned yesterday.

Apologies

Yesterday I behaved inappropriately at work and hurt three people. Today I am in the process of apologizing to them, plus their boss and my boss. No excuses, although there are facts that led me to my poor judgment. Still, no excuses. I was wrong and I apologize.

Bought a sack of dog food for a friend

She lost her job and her dogs are her family. I have been helped in the past and probably will be in the future. I have a little extra money, so I can buy her dog food now and then. She was so happy! She gave me some cookies made from mesquite flour and a beaded pin of a lizard. I think I’m going to ask her to make some beaded lizard pins for me to give as gifts. It would help me and her.

The HR director

who is not my favorite person, requested a map to make 4 photocopies of, but I just made her the photocopies and gave them to her. The Creator wants me to be kind to EVERYONE.

Gave away my chair

Actually I got a Sealy Posturpedic chair for my office at work, and my older chair I gave to another person whose chair was falling apart. He did ask if he could swap it out for my new chair. Haha, uhm, no. Anyway he is happy with a new-to-him chair, and I got it out of my office, so we are both winners.

I gave away the big TV

that was sitting on my kitchen floor, unused, for over a year, to someone who will be without a TV after this weekend. I love it when it’s a win-win situation.

Called the guy about picking up the old Dodge Dakota

and he’s interested! If he takes it away, my life is enhanced and so is his. A win-win exchange.
