Having work as an actor is wonderful; Not having work as an actor sucks. Being in a production that’s challenging is worth it all. I’ll keep this goal up as long as I keep on the journey, even if I die trying, I’ll always be plugging away at it.

Last week, my appearance on a tv show aired on Wednesday and I shot a film last week Friday. I just need more work on a regular basis.
Every time I read an acting book, I can’t help but feel that all my work wasn’t good enough. I’ll never feel it’s good enough, no matter how I work at it. Even if an acting teacher or a director or even other actors compliment my work, I later on see how inferior my work was at the time and how I wasn’t listening enough. I can only hope my craft strengthens instead of assuming it’s improved by age alone. I’m currently reading, “The Power of the Actor” and it’s a great book. I also need to put it all to practice to strengthen my acting muscle.
Human beings are never satisfied. We’re always chasing after whatever we think will make us happy. Sometimes it gets us into trouble, other times we find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
I may never be satisfied trying to be a successful actor, but I love the journey I’m on. I’m harder on myself when it comes to this goal. It’s the one thing I really want (unless true love comes along).
I’m reading an Ivana Chubbick book right now with this title. I’d received it from a fellow actor and I’m very interested in it, since another actor is teaching this technique. Since I’ve had a project fall through, I have time enough to finish this book. Yeah, there are tons of books on acting, but it’s what I draw from them that’s the thing.
I’ll be done this goal the day I die.
I was performing a nurse on a locally-shot tv show and I just paid attention to what I was there for. It was fun, but when you love what you do, the work has no labour in it.
I will be a successful actor when I’m doing this full-time.
Sometimes I forget how lazy I can get, but it’s also reassuring to know that other actors are like this too. Just as long as I work on the project and toss all other worries aside that create hurdles. Like spending too much time on the internet, watching YouTube videos after unplugging my tv.
Just thinking about what I should do means nothing unless I actually do it.
I’m doing a play for this year’s fringe festival and having a blast! The other actor, the director, playwright/stage manager and assistant stage manager aka muse, are a great bunch of people. There’s less than a month until the show must go up on stage, but even though we’re far from ready, we’ll get there. I could wish for the festival to begin, but I’m not ready yet. I getting myself prepared for it though, so we should be in good form. It’s the other actor’s first fringe festival and my 8th! Wow, 8 times doing the fringe, and one of them was in Vancouver for a puppet show. I hope to do more of them.
