I’ll always be a vegan, but I know I’ll never go completely raw. I enjoy raw food dishes, don’t get me wrong, but if I do go raw, it’ll be a natural progression.
A couple of weeks ago, on a Sunday, I went to a raw food pot luck. I’d brought an ambrosia salad, vegan, that was converted to raw, and wrote the ingredients for it. Some of the stuff in the salad was organic, but that wasn’t a huge issue with the people there. I was sore a few days afterwards from the yoga, but that was the only bad thing, as should be expected from long bouts of excersizing. All the food was delicious and I’ve never had so many salads! One item was a dark green leafy vegetable (kale?), dehydrated with a cashew “cheese” on top that was amazingly delicous. The same guy who made this also dehydrated some peppers that I couldn’t stop wolfing down.
I hope to attend more of these.
I bought a book by www.aniphyo.com on raw food desserts. So far, I’ve only made fruit-based popsicles. There’s lots of stuff I’d love to make for pot lucks.
I’d gotten a call from the Library, via automated message telling me I had a book on hold ready for me. I couldn’t remember what it was until I claimed it. It’s a raw food recipe book that is chock-full of deliciousness. I have to try them out and test them on my other vegan friends. I gave up on this originally because my sense of discipline deserted me, but with this book in my posession, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity again.
This is the title of a book I picked up at the library last week. So far, it’s an interesting read by Leslie Kenton. It’s my first book about raw foods I’m reading so far and I want to find more on the subject.
I love being a vegan and have been for 10 years. I’d like to try some raw food recipes but I don’t think I’ll become a raw foodist. I think eating more raw foods will improve my vegan ways but that’s as far as I go for now.
