Need some inspiration. Told myself the way to do this would be to get to as many gigs as possible. Well I’ve bought my ticket to see Rocco De Luca & The Burden and I know it’s going to be absolutely awesome! I saw them not that long ago at my favourite venue, King Tuts. They blew me away. One of the best gigs I’ve been to and trust me, I’ve seen some pretty awesome bands. The drumming is simple enough – I normally play along on the Yamaha DTX through my ipod. However, the percussion dude adds a whole new element to the ryhthm of the band. Awesome! Can’t wait!

I’ve been drumming for 5 years. I studied it for 2 years at College and was aiming for a career as a full time musician. Well that never happened! Still time though. One thing I’ve noticed however is that as the years progress, instead of getting better, I seem to be losing my coordination!
I know it’s because I’m not practicing as much. I need to go back to the basics: Learn my rudiments, teach myself to play right-handed (I’m a left handed drummer), practice my double strokes etc.
I’m going to make a point of carrying my practice pad every where with me.
