see the northern lights

So now I’ve met someone who lived up in Alaska for some time, as that is where he met his wife. He informed me that he’s been up there for both winter and summer and it’s fairly rare to see the northern lights.

Now I’m thinking that my little vacation to Alaska will have a very low chance of actually seeing the northern lights. I’m tempted to see if I can’t hook up with a tour group that somehow has a higher chance to give me the northern lights when I get there, as they travel pretty far north away from the cities and such.

I’ll keep trying though.

Well, I have most of my plans to visit Alaska set up, and I am just awaiting the full amount of money required for this vacation. Regretfully there is never really a guarantee that you will see the northern lights, even if you are in Alaska or even if you are there for some time. But my hopes are high.
