Make an independent film

Since I have done this before and am currently too frustrated with the creative team possibilities in this area, I am on strike until the talent level rises to my level. Or at least the dedication rises to my expectations.

I am doing a short film for film festivals this semester, but I want to work on writing a play and screenplay instead of herding filmmaking sheep in ridiculus circles.

Okay, I already was in one indie film. Started out as one of the leading characters. Then they fired the writer from New York who had started sending re-writes that had long rambling pages of non-stop swearing (apparently 9/11 affected him more than some), and so I was asked to “fix the script.” This is like asking somebody to take an 17 year old and “raise him right”. Did my best and it did turn out pretty funny and damn good for the budget. I still hear from people who get it on Amazon and think its a great underground flick. Now, I want to do one that is up to my standards as an artist. Something I can be truly proud of. If I’m anything like Kubrick, it may take a few years.
