I’m so much more in the habit of doing basic self-maintainance now.

Walking, stretching, water, skin care, sunscreen…. they’re all part of routines.

There’s a whole other level of taking care of myself I still need to address – mentally, emotionally….. but I think I need to take care of that on another goal where I can try to figure out more clearly what I need.



Starting again 3 years ago

It’s been grim for a while here – but I’m approaching this goal again with renewed vigor.

I would like to be doing these things daily:
  • talk a walk
  • put on basic makeup
  • take my vitamin
  • do sit-ups
  • floss
  • sunscreen if not actually raining
  • stretch
  • 3 minutes of rest in the afternoon with the chum


Week 8 3 years ago

This has not been going so well.

Daily goals I am sometimes doing:
  • take a walk
  • do basic makeup
Daily goals I am completely not doing:
  • do sit-ups
  • floss teeth
  • stretch
  • 3 minutes of afternoon resting with R
  • put on sunscreen

Blah! I wanted to add some one a week and one a month goals but these dailies are doing so badly, I feel maybe I shouldn’t add anything.

At least I haven’t back slid on my retired goals- all of them are still up and running.

I am retiring these as they have become habit:
  • shower before Rowan’s first nap
  • do skin care morning and night
  • eat a healthier lunch

Yay! So here’s a new adjusted list of things I’d like to be doing daily:

  • floss teeth
  • take a walk
  • do basic makeup
  • do sit-ups
  • stretch
  • 3 minutes of afternoon resting with R
  • put on sunscreen

There was something else, but I forgot it.

Reviewing my basic daily goals:

These items I am doing daily:
  • shower before Rowan’s first nap
  • do skin care morning and night
  • eat a healthier lunch
These I am doing sometimes:
  • brush and floss teeth
  • take a walk
  • do basic makeup – tinted sunscreen and eyeshadow at least!
These I am doing rarely:
  • do sit-ups
  • stretch

I’ll retire the top 3 if they’re still daily next week. Then maybe I can add a few new things. Yay for progress!

Some of these things are now routine, so I’m cutting them from the list and marking them done.

Plus there are several more things it would be nice to add but…......
This week’s focus – sit-ups followed by stretching. When? At night while watching TV with the man.

Looking over last week’s swell ideas:

brush and floss teeth -doing great on brushing – flossing about half the time. My hygenist would not be pleased

do sit-ups – most days – doing the whole 2 sets of 5 different types. I’m feeling a ifference in the muscles under the stretched outness

shower before Rowan’s first nap – done it every day!!!!!

take a walk – I need to find a way to make this more routine

eat a healthier lunch – I’m not sure what criteria I should set for this, More thought needed.

do skin care morning and night – am getting to most of it most days

do basic makeup – tinted sunscreen and eyeshadow at least! HA! not happening

stretch – nope nope nope

drink 8 glasses of water – you know, on observing this, i am doing this already

take my vitamin – not happening!
